TERMS
Terms of Service.
The rules for using Hookjail, in plain words. By creating a workspace or using a receiving URL you agree to them.
Last updated 1 October 2026.
1. Who these terms are with
Hookjail is operated by Vehbi Emiroğlu (şahıs), an individual (“we”, “us”). Questions about these terms: hello@hookjail.com. If you use Hookjail for an organisation, you confirm you may bind it. You must be at least 18.
2. The service
Hookjail gives you receiving URLs, stores what providers send to them, forwards it to the destination you set, and lets you inspect it and send it again. It is in beta: it is provided on a best-effort basis, without an uptime commitment, and features may change, be limited or be removed. We will give reasonable notice of changes that matter to you, by email or in the product.
3. Your account
You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email address. Keep that mailbox and your receiving URLs and signing secrets private, and rotate them if they are exposed. You are responsible for what happens under your workspace, including by people you invite.
4. Plans and limits
The Free plan has limits (number of endpoints, deliveries per month, how long data is kept, and which features are included). They are shown under Plans & usage in your workspace and are enforced by the service. We may change Free-plan limits; if a change reduces what you have, we tell you at least 30 days before it applies. Paid plans are not available yet. When they open, their prices, billing and refund terms will be published before you can buy and will apply to those plans.
5. Your data
- What you route through Hookjail (webhook bodies, headers you choose to keep, destinations) is yours. You give us only the right to process it to provide the service.
- For personal data inside those webhooks you are the controller and we are your processor. The Data Processing Addendum is part of these terms and applies automatically.
- You can export your delivery metadata and delete your workspace at any time under Settings. Deleting destroys the encryption key first, so stored payloads are unreadable immediately; scheduled jobs then remove the stored data.
- You are responsible for having the right to send the data you send, and for telling your own users where it goes.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- send full payment card numbers, or special-category personal data (health, biometric, genetic, and similar), through Hookjail. We mask some patterns in previews but cannot guarantee that we catch all of them;
- use Hookjail for anything illegal, to distribute malware, to harass anyone, or to infringe others’ rights;
- point a destination at systems you do not own or are not allowed to send to, scan or attack networks through the service, or try to get around the restrictions on destinations (public HTTPS only);
- load-test the service, bypass or abuse plan limits, or interfere with its operation or other users;
- try to access another workspace’s data.
7. Delivery and replay
Hookjail passes your destination’s answer back to the sender and records the outcome. If a request times out we cannot know whether your system processed it, and we do not promise exactly-once delivery. A replay can repeat side effects (a second email, a second charge). Make your handlers idempotent (every request carries Hookjail-Delivery-Id); we warn before repeating a delivery that already succeeded, but the decision is yours.
8. Security
We protect your data as described on the Security page, which also says what we do not claim (for example, there is no independent audit yet). No service is perfectly secure; tell us at hello@hookjail.com if you find a vulnerability and give us reasonable time to fix it before you publish it.
9. Suspension and ending
You can stop using Hookjail and delete your workspace at any time. We may suspend or end access, with notice where we reasonably can, if you break these terms, put the service or other users at risk, or if the law requires it. Sections that by their nature should survive (for example 11 to 13) do.
10. No warranty
To the extent the law allows, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
11. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost revenue or lost data, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and 50 euros. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for intent or gross negligence, or your mandatory rights as a consumer.
12. If you break these terms
If you use Hookjail for business, you will compensate us for third-party claims and reasonable costs that result from the content you route through it or from your breach of section 6.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Türkiye. Disputes go to the competent courts and enforcement offices of Türkiye, except that mandatory rules in your favour as a consumer (including the right to apply to the consumer arbitration committee or consumer court) are not affected.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes we email account holders at least 30 days before they apply. Using the service after that means you accept them; if you do not, delete your workspace before the date.
15. Contact
